Moog opens new defence support centre

Moog has opened a new regional support centre in Huntsville, Alabama. The new centre comprises a large laboratory to support local research, development and testing activities with considerable office space and essential collaboration space.

Martin Bobak, vice president defence sustainment at Moog said: “Located next to the Army Material Command Headquarters, the Huntsville Regional Support Centre is a key element in our strategy to assist new programs as well as maintain existing business through our growing defence sustainment activities.”

Mary Occhipinti, Moog’s Huntsville operations’ site manager, added: “This investment and expansion in Huntsville reflects Moog’s ongoing commitment in support of our key space, defence, and industrial customers across the Southeast. With the opening, we have already doubled our local presence and plan to add additional technical positions.”

Moog says one of the key reasons it decided to expand in Huntsville is because the city is home to Redstone Arsenal, NASA’s Marshall Space Flight Centre and many key prime industry customers.

Moog is a worldwide designer, manufacturer, and integrator of precision control components and systems. The corporation’s high-performance systems control military and commercial aircraft, satellites and space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, automated industrial machinery, and marine and medical equipment.
